A massive thanks to general manager Julia Kimbell and all her team at ‘The Eagle’ pub in the centre of Cambridge for making Ralf Dahm and myself feel so welcome when we spent a wonderful afternoon there recently sitting beneath the historic plaques that commemorate the discovery of the double-helical structure of DNA. Rather than the dramatic entry described by Watson in his book ‘The Double Helix’, I suspect that what happened there on 28th Feb 1953 may well have been a more sober celebration like the one below that took place on 8th Oct 2026…
